Diversity Equity Inclusion Accesibilty
Great art is always Diverse, Equitable, Inclusive,
and Accessible
We endeavor to make art that is more equitable by creating workspaces that are more inclusive and accessible to the diverse humans we serve in theatre. We may create a greater sense of belonging for artists and audiences.
Art is about reaching and connecting with as many individuals as possible. To achieve this, we must create works and environments that reflect the broadest spectrum of the human experience. The artist's domain thrives when people can show up as their authentic selves—intentional, whole, and human. Unfortunately, this opportunity is often unavailable for Black individuals, people of color, and LGBTQ+ communities.
As I work towards being the change I want to see globally, I strive to contribute to the theatre community's efforts to foster inclusivity. Being anti-racist and non-biased is not only a moral imperative; it also enhances business outcomes. I am confident that we all can do more to make our industry braver and safer.
I am honored to serve as director for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion for Cape Fear Regional Theatre and director of Equity, Diversity, Inclusion, and Accessibility for K+Kreset.
